Description

This is a wide field view of the vast area of Vela supernova remnant. The supernova that originates this SNR exploded around 11.000-12.300 years ago, when was about 800 LY away. The Vela SNR is one of the closest known to us although very faint, shining with apparent magnitude 12.

This time, my goal is to show a little bit more of the Vela SNR through this image in wide field, that was captured with a Canon 85mm EF lens connected to my CCD ST-8300M.

Again, this image is a capture in bi-color through Ha and O3 filters. Each channel is a stack of 16 sub frames of 20 minutes each.
